MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION and Club Highlights

Southgate Flying Club is a non-profit Michigan Corporation. Organized in 1953, is one of the oldest and best run flying Clubs in Michigan.
Southgate is based at Ypsilanti Willow Run Airport (YIP). Willow Run provides members with facilities and services not available at smaller airports including:
- 24 hour control tower
- ATIS, radar equipped ATC
- (ILS)
- rapid snow removal
- twenty-four hour refueling
- lounge, weather and rest room facility for pilots
Our aircraft is stored in a hanger. The aircraft engine is heated during cold weather.

Insurance included with monthly member dues will cover personal liability, hull damage to the value of the aircraft (less deductible), property damage liability, passenger and non-passenger liability.
Aircraft are maintained by professional, full time mechanics. The Club preventative
maintenance program exceeds F.A.A. requirements.
The Club has no financial liabilities.
A membership deposit of $ 900 is required upon joining, with $ 700 refunded upon retirement from the Club.
Memberships are bought back by the Club, relieving individual members of having to sell their membership on the open.
Regular membership is limited to a maximum of sixteen. Joint memberships are available for your immediate family living at home for an additional $ 200 deposit (non-refundable) per family member. Monthly dues cover fixed costs. Flying time is on a wet, tach. basis, which is more economical than the Hobbs meter hour charge levied by some other clubs and FBO's. There is no minimum number of flying hours for short term flights. Trips longer than one day have a minimum of two tach-hours per day.
Aircraft: 1978 Piper Archer II (PA28-181), N36281, 4 passenger, 180 hp, with full IFR panel. Both engine and interior have been recently overhauled.
